Kag Tihar
We feed the crows first. In our tradition they bring messages to the house, so we keep them happy.

शुभ दीपावली तथा तिहारको हार्दिक शुभकामना
Tihar is here! Diyos in every window, sel roti in the kitchen and Deusi songs until late at night. We are far from home, but here in Frankfurt we celebrate it together, just like back in Nepal. Happy Tihar to all of you and your families.
Tihar lasts five days and every day has its own meaning. A short overview for our German friends and for the kids growing up here.
We feed the crows first. In our tradition they bring messages to the house, so we keep them happy.
Our dogs get a garland and tika for their loyalty. In the evening we light diyos, clean the house and welcome Goddess Laxmi.
The cow gets flowers, tika and good food. For us she stands for Laxmi and good fortune in the house.
Govardhan Puja for the hill and, for our Newar friends, Mha Puja on Nepal Sambat New Year. In the evening the Deusi groups are out.
Our sisters give us the seven-coloured tika and a makhamali mala. After that: gifts, sel roti and a big family meal.
Dear players, families and supporters, Tihar is one of the most beautiful times of the year for us. It reminds us of home, of our families in Nepal and of everyone who has become our family here in Germany. Thank you for being part of Eintracht Nepali, on the pitch and off it. We wish you and your loved ones a bright and happy Tihar, good health and lots of laughter. And to all brothers and sisters: enjoy your Bhai Tika!
